One day, two little kids named Raphael and Makai were at home. Now, they were playing some games in their toy room. Raphael had his favourite spaceship toy and he was flying it around through the toy room. Look at me, he said. I'm flying it all over the place. I'm gonna fly it over towards the building blocks. As he was flying over to the building blocks, Makai was following. I'm coming too! It was very fun. As they were flying around, they heard a noise at the window. That is not how a spaceship flies. They looked out, and sitting at their window was a green alien. Um, who who are you? said Raphael. Oh, my name is Beepow, said Beepow. Um, and what are you doing in in in the window of my toy room? Well, I have been sent here to collect you for a very, very important mission. Collect me, said Raphael. Yes, and Mackay. Hooray, said Macai. They were very, very excited. But what is this very important mission? said Raphael. Well, I uh I can't tell you too many of the details, but I need you to come with me. Hang on. As they were sitting there, their mum just opened the door. Um, boys, has Beepo arrived yet? Did you know he was coming? said Raphael. Yeah, of course. I was the one that put your names down for this very important mission. Yes, hooray! The kids were so excited. Okay, before you come in the spaceship, I need you to put on these very special spacesuits. Beepo threw two little discs towards the kids, one to Makai and one to Raphael. Raphael was holding it, looking at the disc. Um, Beepo, this doesn't look like a spacesuit. Oh, have you not tried one of these ones before? said Beepo. Um, I haven't tried any spacesuit before, said Raphael. Makai quickly raced over to the toy box and found a funny-looking space helmet and popped it on his head. Look at me, said Mackay. Ho ho, that is a fun-looking space helmet, but our suits are a little bit different. You better try these ones, said Beepo. So Makai took off the space helmet from their toy box, and the boys held their discs. Um, what do we do with it? said Raphael. Okay, now hold it up against your chest. So the boys held the disc against their chest. Okay, now you have to say bippity buppity boo, said Beepo. Um, okay, said Raphael. Bippity buppity boo. He, I tricked you, said Beepow. What? said Raphael. That's not really what you have to say. Oh, I just thought it would be funny, said Beepow. Well, what do we do? You just press the button in the middle of the disc. So Raphael held it up against his chest and pressed the button. Beep! All of a sudden, a full spacesuit appeared across his entire body, including a helmet and everything. This is incredible, said Raphael. Makai copied and did the same, and he got covered by his spacesuit as well. Okay, now that you are ready, can you press the purple button on your wrist control pad? said Beepot. Um, Raphael looked at his arm. There's so many buttons. Um, Beepot, there's three purple ones. Which one do I press? said Raphael. Um, I think the middle one, said Beepo. Uh okay, said Raphael. And he pressed the middle purple button. All of a sudden, his jetpack started blasting. said Raphael. Oh no, said Beepow. Wrong button! Quick, press it again, press it again. As Raphael was flying around the room, he quickly tried to press the button on his wrist pad again. Beep! Ugh, said Raphael. I don't think it was that one. Oh, it must definitely be the first one, then, said Beepho. Raphael was very nervous. He held up his arm and pressed the purple button at the start. When he pressed it, I don't think anything's happening, said Raphael. Uh-oh, said Beepow. What do you mean? Uh-oh, said Raphael. With that, his suit began to swell and swell and swell, and it puffed up like a giant marshmallow. What's happening? said Raphael. This is for planets with too much gravity. It inflates the suit to keep you safe. Ooh, dear, quick, press it again, press it again. So Raphael pressed the button again and his suit shrunk back down to the right size. Okay, it must be the one on the end, said Beepow. Okay, said Raphael. He held up his arm and pressed the purple button on the end.

Bop!

SPEAKER_00:

What's happening? said Raphael, as a loud siren was going off on his suit. Oops, I think that is the emergency beacon. Oh, what's what's happening? I've tried all the purple buttons, said Raphael. Oh dear, said Beepo. What? said Raphael. It's the green button. So with that, Raphael pressed the green button on his control pad and he disappeared. Oh, yay! That was the right one. Okay, you turn, Makai. Makai pressed the green button on his control pad and he disappeared as well. Okay, I best be going, said Beepow, and he disappeared. When they all reappeared, they were on Beepot's spaceship. How did we get here? said Raphael. Oh, that was the transportation button. It transports you back to the ship. Hooray, said Beepow. Oh, that makes sense. Well, where are we going? said Raphael. Oh, let's just go and see. Okay, you sit in this seat. He sat Raphael down at a seat with a steering wheel. And you sit in this seat, he said to Mackay, and he sat Makai down at one that had handlebars. And I will kick back here and relax, said Beepow, as he sat down in a big comfy chair and put his hands behind his head. What now? said Raphael. Press the flying button. Raphael looked down at the giant control pad with all the buttons all over the spaceship. There was one that looked like a rocket blaster. I hope it's this one, he said. It is this one, said Beepho. And I know for sure this time, because I have pressed it many times. Okay, said Raphael. So he pressed the button and the spaceship took off. As it did, it started blasting through space at an amazing speed. How do I know where I'm going? said Raphael, holding onto the steering wheel. Oh, that steering wheel is just pretend. It is so that you can pretend to do all the steering. Oh, okay, okay, said Raphael. So he held the steering wheel and started to turn from side to side. You're right, it doesn't do anything. Makai was very excited too, as he took hold of the handlebars and began to turn. No, don't turn that one, said Beepo. The spaceship turned sideways. Straighten it up, yelled Beepo. The spaceship swung to the other side. Wow. Um, that is the one that actually controls the ship, said Beepow. Macai was very nervous. How do I know which way to go? Just hold on, it will show you the way to go. Really? said the kids. Really, said Beepo. And with that, Makai held onto the handlebars, and he could feel them starting to turn a little bit this way, a little bit this way, and as he guided the ship, all of a sudden, they could see something appearing in front of them. It was some kind of giant shimmering circle. It was huge. It was so big that it made their spaceship look tiny. The spaceship slowed down and stopped right in front of the big, shiny, shimmering circle. We are here, said Bebo. We are where? said Raphael. We are at the brand new space portal. The brand new space portal, said the kids. What is it for? Well, in space, things are a very, very long way apart. So we build new space portals whenever we can, so that we can get from one area of space to a different area of space very, very quickly. Well, where does this one go? said Raphael. Well, it could go to one of a few locations. So you don't know where it goes, said Makai. No, and it is our job to find out. Why is it our job to find out? Because I am on the building committee for the very special space portals. And you didn't think to try and work out where they went first. Well, space portals can be a little bit temperamental. Sometimes they go where you want them to, and sometimes when you're building them, they get a bit of a mind of their own and send you to different locations. So it is my job to test them once building has been completed. And look, it is complete. The shiny shimmery circle is ready to go, said Beepow. So do we just drive through the middle? said Raphael. Yes, we do, and we see where it goes. Are you ready? said Beepow. Um, I think so, said the boys. Then let's go, said Beepho. And with that, Raphael pressed the flying button once more, and the spaceship flew straight into the shiny, shimmering circle. As they flew through, all of a sudden they appeared in a new location. Where are we, said Raphael? What is this strange new land? Where where hang on a second, is that my house? Hooray, said Beepow. Hooray, said Raphael. Yes, this is where it was meant to go! Hooray! So, you came all the way from a newly constructed space portal to my house to take us back all the way to the space portal that's a long way away to fly through it and see if it brought us to our house? Yes, I did, said Beepow. Why didn't you just fly through the first time and see if it brought you here? Oh. That would have been a very good idea, said Beepo. Oh dear, said the boys. Oh yes, you are very clever. Maybe I should make you part of the special council of people that makes the new space portals. The next one we are building is to a very strange new location, said Beepo. Where's it going? said Raphael. We don't know. We're just gonna build one hand and see! Do you want to help me test that one? I don't think so, said Raphael. Oh ho ho ho ho, okay, said Bebo. Well, I am glad that this one works because now we can use it for its very special intended purpose. What's the very special intended purpose? said Raphael. Well, I have some very special toys over at the other space portal that I would like to send to you, and I wanted to make sure if I threw them through the portal that they would come to your house. Why didn't you just bring them to our house? said Raphael. That would have been a very clever idea, said Beepow. Oh dear, said Makai. The boys laughed, and Beepow did too. Okay, boys, I am going to take the portal home. Keep an eye out for the new toys that I will be sending your way. Okay, said the boys. Thanks, Beepow. This has been a really fun adventure. Okay, you can use the other purple button to use your jetpacks and fly down to your house. Aw, that'll be fun, said Raphael. So the boys opened the top of the spaceship and both pressed the jetpack button on their flying suits. They started flying through the sky doing flips and spins. Thanks, Beepho! How do we return these spacesuits to you? You don't need to return them, they are yours. Have fun, said Beepow. Hooray, said the boys. And as they were flying around, Beepho flew his spaceship back through the portal. As the boys flew down to the ground, they landed in their front yard and started walking in towards the house. Just then, a gigantic playset came flying out of the sky and landed in their front yard. They looked at it. It had some kind of strange little spaceship on a track that went around and round in circles, kind of like a roller coaster, but it had spins and twirls to it as well. There was some kind of strange swing on the side, which, when they tried it, didn't just swing back and forth. It went back and forth and round and round and then back and forth again. It was incredible. It was the most amazing playground they had ever seen. They called up to the space portal. Thanks, Beepow! Just then, Beep's head poked through the portal. You're welcome! I'll see you later. Bye-bye, said Beepow. And with that, he disappeared. Just then, their mum came out to the front yard. Wow, she said. Where did this amazing playground come from? Well, said Raphael, I don't think you'd believe us even if we told you. And that is the end of the story. This episode has been brought to you by People's Intergalactic Space Portals.
