Speaker 1:

One day, a little boy named Reed was working in his house with his parents. Now, he had been working very hard to help clean up. Even his little sister, emery, had been watching as Reed worked and worked and worked. He'd cleaned up his entire room. He'd helped sweep the floors, he'd collected everything, and now it was time to take the rubbish out to the bin. All right, reed, this is the last thing, said his parents. It's time to take the rubbish outside to the bin. Do you think you can do it? Um, I think so, said Reed. Yes, I definitely can.

Speaker 1:

So Reed walked over and picked up the two bags of rubbish. He popped them over his shoulder and began to walk towards the door. They were actually quite heavy, but he had decided he could definitely do it. He walked and he stumbled and he worked very hard until he got outside. He started walking down the driveway towards the rubbish bins, but as he was walking, he could see something up ahead of him. There was something that was going through their rubbish bins. But as he was walking, he could see something up ahead of him. There was something that was going through their rubbish bin.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I think it was this one. Oh no, no, not that one. I need more rubbish when can I find more rubbish?

Speaker 1:

He looked across. Um, excuse me, who are you? Oh, said the man at the rubbish bin. Well, my name is Bonigo. Bonigo, said Reed. Oh well, what are you doing with our rubbish bins? Well, said Bonigo, I need more rubbish. Do you have any by any chance? Well, yes, said Reed, I'm actually bringing out more bags of rubbish right now. See, reed swung the bags from his shoulder to show Bonigo. Oh, fantastic. Hooray, said Benigo. Why do you need our rubbish, said Reed. Well, I am working on something very, very important. Maybe you could help me. Really, said Reed. Really, said Benigo, I do definitely need the help. Do you think you would like to?

Speaker 1:

Reed looked back at the door and his parents were sticking their heads outside. Um, reed looked back at the door and his parents were sticking their heads outside. Go for it, reed, it could be fun. Um, okay, said Reed, I would love to help. Hooray, said Benigo, bring that rubbish and come with me. Okay, said Reed, but first let me make it a little bit lighter. How are you going to do that, said Reed.

Speaker 1:

Benigo pulled out a little funny looking tank. He poked a hose inside the rubbish bag and gas started to pour into it. What are you doing? It is helium, said Benigo. It would make it like hot air balloon rubbish bags. Really, said Reed. It's working. He said, as the bag started to almost float in his hands, quick, tie it off, okay.

Speaker 1:

So Reed tied the bags of rubbish up and started to carry them over with Benigo. They walked over and Benigo had a very funny looking truck. Ah, yes, okay, climb into the back of the truck and drop the rubbish. Oh, we might need to tie the rubbish bags down. Yes, good idea, said Reed. So Benigo and Reed worked together to tie the rubbish bags down to the special truck and then they jumped in to drive. They started to drive down the road and Benigo was pressing all kinds of funny buttons inside the car. But Nigo, what are the buttons that you're pushing? Well, I need to activate the tunnel to be able to get to my very special workshop. Activate the tunnel tunnel, said reed. What are you talking about? As he was asking the question, the road in front of them seemed to almost split down the middle and it started going down deep into the ground. It opened up like some kind of gigantic trap door. Whoa, said reed, what's happening? This is the secret entrance to my very special workshop.

Speaker 2:

Make sure you don't tell anybody.

Speaker 1:

I won't, said Reed, definitely. So the truck drove down deep into the workshop and stopped in a very strange looking parking garage. Reed climbed out to look around. This place is strange, said Reed. Yes, but it is very good for inventing. Quick, grab the rubbish. Okay, said Reed.

Speaker 1:

So Reed grabbed the rubbish bags and carried them over towards where Benigo was walking. When they walked inside, they stepped into Benigo's super secret workshop. Wow, said Reed, look at all these inventions. There's amazing stuff everywhere. I know, said Benigo, I like to do the inventing. It is one of my favorite things in the whole entire world Coming up with very strange, very fantastic ideas.

Speaker 1:

But first we need to do this rubbish making. What are we making, said Reed. Well, I have decided to make rubbish robots. Rubbish robots, said Reed. What are you going to use those for? Well, it is good to do the recycling and the reusing of the rubbish. So I am going to use rubbish to make robots out of rubbish that can go out and collect more rubbish to bring to the workshop. To build more robots to collect rubbish. Wow, said Raid, that sounds interesting. Yes, it will be very interesting. Quick, pour out all the rubbish here on this table, but it could be a bit smelly, said Raid. Don't worry, hang on, use this. Spinego handed Raid some kind of special helmet. He popped it on his head. Wow, it smells like strawberries in here. Yes, this is my auntie's smelly helmet. It will get rid of any smells. Okay, let me have one too. He popped one on his head and when he did, oh no, this is the very smelly helmet oh no, said benigo, running around trying to pull the helmet off his head.

Speaker 1:

It smells like pim-pim socks. Who's pim-pim? Said raid. Never mind, said benigo, I need to get this off my head. He it smells like Pimpin socks. Who's Pimpin? Said Reed. Never mind, said Benigo, I need to get this off my head. He said, running around the workshop.

Speaker 1:

Reed raced over and grabbed the helmet and tried to pull it off Benigo's head. He pulled and he pulled until. Oh, thank you, said Benigo, that was very smelly. Now where is the good smelly helmet? Oh, yes, it is over here. Ok, he picked up the second helmet and popped it on his head. Oh, much better.

Speaker 1:

Blueberries. Mine smells like strawberries, said Reed. There's a little dial on the side. You can change to any kind of berries. Oh, okay, said Reed. He twisted. Oh, raspberries, I'll take that one. Very good, all right, rubbish time, said Benigo. So Benigo and Reed tipped all the rubbish out on Benigo's workshop table. They looked at all the things. This will be perfect, said Benigo. He started grabbing all the little bits of rubbish and, with his screwdrivers and spanners that he pulled out of his toolbox, he started putting it all together In what seemed like no time at all. There was standing in front of them a robot. Um, is that going to work, said Reed. Give it a try, said Benigo. Press the banana peel button. Um, okay, said Reed. So Reed stretched forward and pressed the banana peel button on the front of the robot.

Speaker 2:

I am rubbish robot. I am here to collect rubbish. Do you have any friends for me?

Speaker 1:

Oh yes, said Benigo, Turn on the second one. The second one, said Reed. While Reed had been looking at the first one, Benigo had already made a second rubbish robot. This one has a yogurt lid button. Press the yogurt lid button. Um okay, said Reed. So he pressed the yogurt lid button on the second robot. It came to life.

Speaker 2:

I am a rubbish robot. I am ready to collect rubbish. Do you have a friend?

Speaker 1:

I will be your friend said the other robot Come on, let's go. The two robots actually held hands and started to skip out of the workshop. We should follow them, said Reed. Definitely, said Benigo, this could be very, very fun. Oh, yes, let's go. So the robots skipped off ahead and Benigo and Reed followed along behind as they walked out of the secret entrance to Benigo's workshop. The robots got to work. They raced over to the first house that they could see to start looking for rubbish. Raced over to the first house that they could see to start looking for rubbish. They went over to the bins Empty empty.

Speaker 2:

bins are empty, oh no, what do we do? What do we do? What do we do they?

Speaker 1:

said Um, benigo, we might have a problem. What is that? Said Benigo. Well, bin day was yesterday, so most of the bins might be empty. Uh-oh, we forgot to put in a contingency. What's a contingency? Said Reed. Um, it is what you do when things go wrong, but I'm sure it will be okay, said Benigo. Must find rubbish, said the first robot. Maybe rubbish inside, said the second robot. They raced over to the front door and pulled on the front door, except, instead of pulling on the normal side of the front door, they pulled on the wrong side and they ripped the front door right off the house. What's going on? Yelled a lady inside, very worried. We are rubbish robots, we are looking for rubbish. They looked around the house. That couch looks like rubbish. That is not rubbish, that's a brand new couch. It is rubbish. Quick, grab it. The two robots started grabbing the couch and trying to carry it out through the door. It's not going to fit out the door, said the man. We will get out the door. Yes, out the door said the two robots.

Speaker 1:

And with that they blasted a hole straight through the front door to make it big enough to fit the couch through, and they carried the couch outside straight over to Benigo. We have found more rubbish. Make more rubbish robots. No, said Benigo, that is not rubbish, you are breaking things. Find more rubbish. Find more rubbish, said the robots as they raced back into the house. What's going on? Yelled the lady once more. Stop, put that down, that's not rubbish.

Speaker 1:

The robots this time had picked up the man's TV and they were carrying it out of the house. Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. It's not rubbish, said the man Does not turn on, see, they pressed the button and nothing happened. That's because you unplugged it, said the man. Rubbish. They folded the TV in half. Rubbish, see. Well, it's rubbish now, said the man. Oh dear, said Benigo. What do we do, said Reed? We need to find out a way to stop them. We need rubbish, said Benigo, or else they will go on making everything into rubbish. I've got an idea, said Reed. Reed looked around very, very quickly to try and find something Lucky. There was a piece of rubbish on the ground nearby. He picked it up. It was a chip packet. Hopefully this will work, said Reed. He held it over his head. Hey rubbish robots, look at this. Both the rubbish robots turned around and looked at Reed.

Speaker 2:

Boy has rubbish. Get boy, get boy. Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish rubbish.

Speaker 1:

And they started running over towards him. What now said Benigo? Run, said Reed. So Reed and Benigo started running off down the street with two rubbish robots chasing them from behind.

Speaker 2:

Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.

Speaker 1:

As they ran and they ran, benigo and Reed turned down different streets, around corners. They're catching us, said Benigo. Don't you have anything that can help us go faster? Said Reed.

Speaker 1:

Oh yes said Benigo, thinking very quickly. He reached into the tool bag that he was carrying and pulled out two sets of funny looking wheels. What are these, said Reed. Just chuck them on your feet, said Benigo. So Reed dropped them on the ground and jumped on. It turned out that they were detachable roller skates. Wow, they're fast. As Reed and Benigo now had their special roller skates on, they zoomed through the streets all the way to what is this place, said Benigo. This is the recycling center, said Reed. Lucky, it's nearby. They zoomed in through the gates. There was a lady there. I didn't get your weight, she said. Never mind, just wait, said Benigo, and the two rubbish robots burst in behind them.

Speaker 2:

Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. Hey said the lady, you need to get weighed first. Oh, rubbish.

Speaker 1:

The two rubbish robots stopped on the weighbridge to collect their weight before they entered. Then they saw it.

Speaker 2:

Oh, rubbish.

Speaker 1:

Yes, said Reed, look at all the rubbish. Yes, said the lady, we've had a lot dumped lately. We don't know what to do with it all. Don't worry, said Benigo, we have the solution. The two rubbish robots burst into the middle of the recycling center and started collecting all the rubbish. They compacted it and smashed it into tiny little balls and then collected all the balls into one big pile In no time at all. They had set it up as a giant tower of balls of rubbish. What are we going to do with all these balls, said Reed? I don't know, said Benigo. The two rubbish robots were standing there getting ready to run off and find more rubbish. Ah, I better stop them quick, said Reed. He raced over and pressed the banana button and the yogurt lid button. Rub, rub, thank goodness, said Reed.

Speaker 1:

As Benigo and Reed were staring at the giant pile of tiny little rubbish balls, they were trying to work out what to do next. I wonder, said Reed, he picked up one of the balls and threw it to Benigo. Whoa, said Benigo, jumping out the way. What was that for? Um, I've got an idea. Can I grab something out your tool bag? Sure, said Benigo. So Reed reached into Benigo's tool bag and pulled out one of his spanners. All right, throw me one of those balls, he said. Okay, said Benigo. So Benigo threw the ball over towards Reed and Reed smacked it like a baseball. It held its shape and it flew into the air. It's gonna work, said Reed. What's going to work, said Benigo. We can use these as baseballs. Oh hooray, said Benigo.

Speaker 1:

So Benigo and Reed started collecting all the balls. They popped them into bags and started carrying them around the neighbourhood. They knocked on the doors of all the houses, and any houses that had kids, they'd give them one of the special baseballs to play with. As they handed out the last couple of balls, benigo and Reed raced back to Benigo's house. Is there any left, said Reed. Yes, said Benigo, three left, just for you. Hooray, said Reed. He looked at them carefully. He had a smell. Hey, benigo, why don't these smell? Oh, because when you compact the rubbish extra super duper tight, all the smelliness gets squeezed out and there is none left. Wow, that's amazing, said Reed. I love my new rubbish baseballs. Thanks, benigo, you are welcome, said Benigo. I'll see you later. I better go get my rubbish robots and hope nobody has pressed the button. Yeah, said Reed, I hope not.

Speaker 1:

As Reed walked back inside carrying the three new funny looking baseballs, his parents were sitting there waiting. Wow, reed, that looks cool. Where did you get those from? Well said Reed, I don't think you'd believe me even if I told you. And that is the end of the story. 19 innings baseball game oh yes, it will be very fun. We hope that you have been enjoying the silly stories for kids. Make sure to share it with every single one of your friends. This has been me, bo Nigger, and me, sam. We'll see you soon.
