OK… Let’s Go!
One day, three little kids named Riker, riley and Charlie were all at the playground. Now they had been playing on the monkey bars and swinging on the swings when all of a sudden, they heard a voice over near one of the trees. Um, uh-oh, said the voice. Who said that? Said Riley. I don't know, said Charlie, we better go check. So Riker, riley and Charlie all headed over to the tree to see what was going on. When they got there, there was a panda. He was holding a funny little tube of something. Um, excuse me, said Riker. Uh, yes, said the panda. What are you doing? Well, said the panda.
Speaker 1:My name is Panda Pete and I have found something very special, but I didn't plan on using it exactly as it has been used so far. What is it? Said Riley. Well, have you ever heard of super glue? Um, yes, said Charlie. Well, this is the superest of super glues in the whole entire world. Uh-oh, said Riker. You are most certainly correct, said Panda Pete. Uh-oh is the correct statement.
Speaker 1:So, um, any chance you might be able to help me, help you with what said Riley? Well, I seem to have used it on some things that were not the right things to use it on, like what said Charlie. Um see, said Panda Pete, as he pointed to the tree. And there, stuck to the tree, was is that a picnic blanket? Said Riley. Um, yes, said Panda Pete. I was trying to have a picnic and I thought maybe a picnic would be fun, attached to the side of a tree. But I didn't really think that for me to be able to sit on the side of the tree, that I would also have to be stuck to the side of the tree. But now my picnic blanket is stuck to the tree and I cannot get it off. Well, said Charlie, how are we ever going to get it off if it's the most superest of superglue? Um, well, I'm not too sure. Maybe we could try sticking some other things and see if they can come apart. Um, that is a really bad idea, said Riker. Well, that's the trouble.
Speaker 1:What said the kids? See, he held up a baseball bat and there on the end of the baseball bat, stuck to it, was a baseball. Panda Pete, did you glue the baseball to the baseball bat? Well, maybe, he said. What do you mean? Maybe, said Charlie. You see, I had put some of the superglue on the baseball and I planned to throw it and see what happened. But before I could throw it, I dropped it down next to the baseball bat and it got stuck.
Speaker 1:Now, I can't play baseball at all, but what were you hoping it might get stuck to? Said Riley. Well, I was hoping to hit the world's biggest home run, and when it got stuck at the world's biggest home run location, I'd be able to prove that it was the world's biggest ever. That is a ridiculous idea, said Charlie, I know, said Panda Pete. But what are we going to do? Well, I guess we'll have to find some way to unstick the most superest superglue in the whole entire world, said Riker. Okay, said Panda Pete. But how are we going to do that, I don't know? Said Riley. Me either. Said Charlie, hmm, as they started to think they were trying to think of things that were the opposite of sticky, maybe something slimy, said Riley. Hmm, maybe, said Riker, that might work. Yeah, said Charlie. What's the most slimy thing in the whole entire world? Um, snails are pretty slimy, or a slug, said Charlie. Let's find a slug, said Panda Pete.
Speaker 1:So the kids and Panda Pete started running around the playground trying to find a slug. They were searching in garden beds and under trees, and then, in the middle of a garden bed, I've got one called Riker. He came out of the bushes holding a slug in his hand and it's super slimy. Okay, said Panda Pete. As they walked back over to where the picnic blanket was stuck to the tree, riker was carrying the slug.
Speaker 1:Um, panda Pete, I really don't think this is going to work. Yes, it will, said Panda Pete. Slimy equals the opposite of sticky. So if we get the slug, we'll be able to opposite the stick of the stickiest, most super super glue in the whole entire world. This is not going to work, said Charlie, but sure enough, they tried anyway.
Speaker 1:They brought the slug over to the picnic blanket. They held it up. What do we do now? Said Riley. What is that? Said the slug. What said Riley? Can you talk?
Speaker 1:Of course I can talk, said the slug. Um, well, said Charlie, you see, this panda here used the most superest superglue in the whole entire world to stick this picnic blanket to the tree and we were hoping that your sliminess might be able to unstick it. Yeah, that's a good idea, but you have one problem, said the slug. What's our problem? Said Riley. You need a lot more slugs. It said A lot more slugs, said Riker. Yes, said the slug bed. A lot more slugs, said Riker. Yes, said the slug, we need hundreds of slugs, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds.
Speaker 1:Oh dear, said Panda Pete, it took us so long just to find you. Well, lucky enough, I have a lot of friends, said the slug. Really, said Riley, yes, but we need to go get them. Where do we need to get them from? Said Charlie, come with me. Said the slug as it started trying to crawl away.
Speaker 1:As the kids watched, the slug slowly moved, very, very slowly, very, very, very slowly. This is taking forever, said Panda Pete. Can't we get to your friends any quicker? This is as fast as I can move, said the slug. Hmm, what can we do?
Speaker 1:As they were sitting watching the slug slowly moving along, all of a sudden they heard a voice behind them. Maybe I can help. As the kids turned around, hovering in the air behind them was a beautiful magic fairy. Who are you? Said Charlie. Hi, I'm Peach, the magic fairy. Hi, peach, said Riker, what are you doing here? Well, said Peach, I heard that you were in a bit of a predicament. Yeah, said Charlie, we're trying to follow this slug, but he's super slow, super, duper, duper slow, said Panda Pete, I can't help it. Said the slug. Well, maybe I can help it. Said Peach. How? Said the kids, try this.
Speaker 1:Peach held out a very special collar. It was a very, very small, strange-looking spray bottle. What is this? Said Riker. Try it on the slug, said Peach. Okay, said Riker. He walked over. Excuse me, mr Slug, can I spray this on you? Why not? Said the slug. Okay, said Riker. So Riker started to spray the slug and as he did, wow, I feel very.
Speaker 1:The slug took off at astronomical speed. Where'd he go, said Riley, as they were talking. Hey, why aren't you following? Said the slug. We didn't see where you went, said Charlie. Okay, I'll go a little bit slower. They saw the slug heading off in a direction. Quick, follow him. Yeah, follow him. Said Panda Pete, let's go.
Speaker 1:So the kids and Panda Pete started racing off after the now super speedy slug. As they followed, the slug went around in circles up a tree, then back down the tree, and then it went across the oval next to the park and when it got to the other side it went into somebody's garden. Um, are we allowed to go in there? Said Charlie. I don't know. Said Riker, come on. Said the slug. Yeah, come on, said Panda Pete, diving into the front garden. Panda Pete, I know, but it looks so much fun. Look at this, bush, I can completely disappear Now, you see me. Where'd he go? Said Charlie. But oh, said Panda Pete. Whoa, said the kids. Um, where did the slug go Over here?
Speaker 1:The kids looked over and there, underneath, a very shady plant was. Look at them all, said Riker, there has to be hundreds, said Riley, maybe even thousands, said Charlie Hooray, said Panda Pete, okay, my friends, we need to do some unsticking of some supery, dupery, super glue. Okay, said one of the slugs. Yeah, we can come. Okay, follow me, said the first slug, and he took off.
Speaker 1:All the other slugs began to move very, very slowly. Maybe spray him with some spray, said Charlie. Oh, yeah, good idea, said Riker. So Riker sprayed the spray on all the slugs in the pile. And then I've got an idea, said Panda Pete, what's your idea? Said Charlie, try this, excuse me. Slugs Um, can I get a lift? What said one of the slugs? Um, okay, all of a sudden a bunch of slugs formed into a circle and Panda Pete sat down on top of the circle of slugs. Let's go. The slugs took off at astronomical speed. That looks like fun, said Riley. Yes, said Charlie, let's go, said Riker.
Speaker 1:So circles of slugs appeared and the kids each sat on a little circle each and the slugs headed off at astronomical speed. The kids were having an amazing time zooming around on top of the slugs who went around and over the trees and back under different ones and around and around in circles, moving so quickly until, hey, that's my picnic blanket, said Panda Pete. Okay, everybody, it's time, said the slug, and all the slugs started to work together. They started to slime and slime next to the picnic rug on the tree. As the slime from all the slugs started to drip down behind the picnic rug, it started to move. It's working, said Panda Pete. Hooray, said the kids. In no time at all, the picnic rug came away from the tree. Hooray, you've done it, yelled Panda Pete. Thank you, thank you, thank you, You're welcome, said one of the slugs. Um, okay, well, I guess it's picnic time now, and now I guess I have some friends who wants to stay for a picnic. Hooray called the kids, hooray called the slugs.
Speaker 1:And so Panda Pete pulled out his picnic basket and set up a picnic for everyone. They all sat down and enjoyed sandwiches and cupcakes and all kinds of fruit. It was delicious, they ate and they talked and they had a wonderful time. All right, said Panda Pete, I better be going and we better get back to our mum, said the kids, I'll see you later, said Panda Pete. So Panda Pete ran off. The slugs went off in their different directions, slowly getting slower now that the spray appeared to be wearing off and the kids headed back home. As they arrived back at their house, their mum was there waiting. Hey kids, she said did you have fun at the park? What did you do? She said Well, said Riley, I don't think you'd believe us, even if we told you. And that is the end of the story.
Speaker 1:This episode is brought to you by PandaPete's Superest of Super Glue. Do you need to stick something to something forever? Use PandaPete's Superest of Super Glue and it will stay completely. Uh oh, I think. I think my fur is stuck to this seat. I can't, I can't get up, oh dear.
