Speaker 1:

One day two kids named Harry and Marla were heading to the carnival. They were so excited. Carnivals were one of their most favourite things in the whole entire world. As they were heading in, they got their tickets and they handed them to the man at the gate who let them come inside. They looked around there were so many rides everywhere. I want to try the roller coaster, said Harry. I want to go to the scary house, said Marla. Oh, I don't want to do that, said Harry. Me either, said Marla. I was just kidding. How about we go to the Mad Mouse? Oh, that could be fun. Or the House of Mirrors.

Speaker 1:

As they were looking at all the different rides, they noticed a little stall where you could try and throw balls to win a toy. Let's go try that one. Said Harry. Good idea, said Marla. They raced over and they looked at all the different toys. I like that teddy bear over there, said Harry. Me too, said Marla, let's try and get that one. Yeah, good choice, said the teddy bear.

Speaker 1:

What said the kids? Yeah, I'm the best choice in this whole rack. What? You're a talking teddy bear? Well, yeah, I'm not even really one of the prizes, but I just thought I'd hang out here and wait for you guys. What said the kids? What do you mean? Wait for us? Well, my name's Teddy Winkle and you're Harry and Marla, aren't you? Well, yes, how did you know? Because, said Teddy Winkle, I've been waiting for you. Do you want to come on a very special adventure? This is not a normal carnival and we have some ride that is a little bit out of control and it needs your help. Uh, okay, said the kids. I guess we could help. Hooray, said Teddy Winkle, come on, let's go. Teddy Winkle jumped down from the prize stand, much to the surprise of the man running the game. Hey, come back here. Nobody won you. You can't win me. I won me because I'm Teddy Winkle and Teddy Winkle is the best. Off in the distance, the kids heard a voice. No, you're not. Who said that to the kids? Never mind, come on, let's go.

Speaker 1:

The kids followed Teddy Winkle and they ran through the carnival, passed a lot of the rides until they got to. Is that a carousel, it is, said Marla. It looks very old and it doesn't seem to be working properly. Yes, said Teddy Winkle, this is the ride that needs your help. How are we going to help it? Well, every carousel needs lots of fun and joy, and this one seems to have run out, so we've got to go inside the mechanical mechanisms to try and make it more fun again. Um, how do we do that? Said Harry. Come on, I'll show you.

Speaker 1:

Teddy Winkle helped the kids up onto the carousel. They started looking at all the different horses that were on it and they seemed to have sad faces. Oh, this horse looks really upset, said Harry. Yeah, said Marla, this one looks sad as well, don't worry, said Teddy Winkle, we'll be able to fix it, follow me.

Speaker 1:

The kids followed along and in the centre of the carousel there was a little door. Where does this door go, said Harry. Oh, that's the exciting part, said Teddy Winkle. Come on in, we go. Teddy Winkle opened the door and the kids followed him inside.

Speaker 1:

When the kids arrived on the other side of the door, it was a very strange sight to be seen. They looked around inside the carousel. It was a very, very strange set of mechanisms. They looked at all the different cogs and all the different levers and all the things. There seemed to be these strange buckets all around the place as well that were all completely empty. What's going on in here, said Harry. See, said Teddy Winkle, this carousel has run out of fun, so we need to put more fun back into it to make sure that everything can get better. Okay, said the kids. How are we going to do that? Come on over here, said Teddy Winkle.

Speaker 1:

So the kids followed Teddy Winkle over to one of the buckets. So you say that this needs more fun? Yes, so the first thing that we're going to do is something very, very funny. Um, like what said the kids? Um, do you kids know any jokes? Um, I do, said Marla. What's your joke? Said Teddy Winkle. What is brown and sticky? Um, marla, that sounds like a naughty joke. A stick, said Marla. Oh, that was a funny one. Good one, yeah, good one, said Harry.

Speaker 1:

As they were all laughing together, they realised, hey, this bucket's starting to fill, said Harry, I know, said Teddy Winkle. I told you we need to fill the buckets with fun. Have you got a joke, harry? Um, maybe, said Harry. Let me have a think. As Harry was thinking oh, I've got one Knock knock. Who's there? The interrupting cow? The interrupting cow, moo, said Harry, cutting off Teddy Winkle. Oh, you interrupted me. Ha ha, that was a good one. As they all laughed together. The bucket filled and filled and filled. It's working. All right, we need to do the next bucket. Hang on over here.

Speaker 1:

They raced over to the next bucket. Um, how are we going to fill this one? Said Marla. Maybe we could play a game. Games are fun. Yeah, said Harry. I like games. Let's play. Um, hide and seek, let's play Tiggy, said Harry. Oh, good idea, let's play tag. So, um, I'll be it, said Harry.

Speaker 1:

Okay, teddy Winkle and Marla went running off in different directions inside the carousel. It was fun because there was lots of different things to hide behind. As they started running and racing and chasing each other around underneath, harry raced up towards Teddy Winkle Tag, you're it. Oh, you got me. Alright, I'm coming for you.

Speaker 1:

Teddy Winkle started racing off after Marla. They noticed that as they were running and tagging, that every bucket that they were running past was getting a little bit more full. It's working, said Teddy Winkle. They played tag for a while until they were all very tired. Um, okay, what can we do next? We need something else. That's fun. Um, well, just then a hatch opened up above them and a head poked down inside. Hello, said a voice. Oh, no, not you. Who's that? Said Marla.

Speaker 1:

I am the Pim Pim and everybody knows that Pim Pim is the best when it comes to having fun. Um, really said Harry. Really said Pim Pim, if you are trying to create Fun, you have been doing it all wrong if you have not been using the Pim Pim. Okay, I am here to help you. I have a joke.

Speaker 1:

Let me start with my joke. What is purple and fluffy? The Pim Pim. The kids looked at Pim Pim. That wasn't very funny. Pim Pim, oh, oh dear, I must try another joke. Um, what is brown and fuzzy? What is brown and fuzzy, said Marla. What is brown and fuzzy, said Marla, daddy Winkle. The kids looked at Pimpim. You're just saying things that are true. That's not a joke. Oh, dear, oh, said Pimpim.

Speaker 1:

As he fell in through the roof, he bounced off one of the cogs and rolled down the side. He hit some kind of strange slide and went sliding straight down. As he slid down, it curved back up and he started flipping through the air. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. And then, as he was flipping through the air, he rolled sideways and tipped over one of the other cogs. It started to tip and knock another one, and another one, and another one, until it spun around and Pimpim landed perfectly on his feet and caught everything in his hands. Ta-da, he said the kids went wild. That was amazing. That was the best, said Marla. Yeah, it was all right, said Teddy Winkle, trying to pretend that he didn't find it so much fun, as the kids were laughing and cheering and Teddy Winkle was trying not to cheer, but inside he was definitely cheering.

Speaker 1:

They watched the buckets start to fill. They were getting more and more full until they were all almost full. It's working, said the kids. We're almost there. Yes, said Teddy Winkle, we probably just need one more thing. That's a little bit more fun. Um, maybe we should try something. That's a little bit crazy, said Harry. Uh-oh, said Teddy Winkle, what do you mean? Uh-oh, said Harry. Did somebody say crazy? Wah, pim-pim started to go nuts. He started flying around inside the carousel smashing off walls, bouncing off things, blasting all over the place, flipping, spinning, twirling, and as he did, he started spinning and knocking over all the buckets Not the buckets, yelled Marla.

Speaker 1:

She started running around trying to catch them. Marla was running around trying to catch the flying buckets. Harry was running around trying to grab onto Pim Pim's foot. Pim Pim was standing in the middle, laughing and doing cartwheels by himself, watching the chaos unfold as it rolled and raced. They realised the buckets are. They're overflowing, said Harry. They're absolutely full to the brim, said Marla. The kids were laughing as they watched Pimpin continue to zoom around. It was the most ridiculous sight to be seen until Pimpin blasted straight back out the hatch. He came through and the kids raced outside.

Speaker 1:

When they got outside they looked at the carousel. Oh my goodness, said Harry. Look at it. It's amazing, said Marla. All the horses were as happy as can be, so happy that they almost seemed to be. Are those horses moving? Yes, they are. Thank you, said one of the horses. Yes, thank you, I'm so happy. The horses were all alive.

Speaker 1:

As the lights and the music started pouring out of the carousel, kids started coming from everywhere. They were so excited. Look, that has to be the most fun ride at the whole carnival. Look at all the lights and colours. I want to sit on the pink pony. Oh, yes, said the pink pony, come sit on me. The kids were so happy and Teddy Winkle was too. All right, kids, pick any horse you like for the very first carousel ride in a very long time. Okay, said Harry. Hooray, said Marla, they each jumped on one of the horses. They were very excited. They gave them a pat and the horses were very happy too. Then all the other kids started climbing on as well. Once every horse on the entire carousel had someone sitting on it.

Speaker 1:

Teddy Winkle pulled the lever to start the carousel. It started to go around and the horses started to go up and down and then they started to go up and out and they started to fly around the carousel itself. Their kids were laughing and giggling as flying horses were zooming around the outside of the carousel. It was like they galloped through the air and then came back down to their spot and then galloped out once more. The people at the carnival came from everywhere to watch the spinning, twirling, flying horses flying through the sky around the outside of the most colourful, happy carousel that anybody had ever seen.

Speaker 1:

After a little bit of time the carousel slowed down and the horses all returned to their spots. The kids all climbed off and went to the exit of the ride. As they were walking out, one of the kids turned to Harry and Marla and said that is the most fun ride I think I've ever seen. How did it get so much fun. Well said, harry. I don't think you'd believe us, even if we told you and that is the end of the story to life and fly through the air and zoom through the sky and create so much fun just like silly stories for kids. We hope you've been enjoying it. Make sure to join our family to help us make more stories. All the time this has been me, teddy winkle and me sam. We'll see you soon.
