Speaker 1:

One day a little boy named Judah was sitting at home with his dog, scruffles. Now, judah and Scruffles had been playing fetch and now he'd brought Judah inside so that he could give her a bone. As Judah picked up the bone to give to Scruffles, all of a sudden something very strange began to happen. Ring, ring, ring, ring. Um, is this bone ringing, thought Judah. He put it to the side of his head, feeling very strange. Um, hello, he said hey, is that Judah? He heard from the other end of the bone. Uh, yes, who's this? It's me, teddy Winkle. I need your help. Really, said Judah. Yeah, I'm in a bit of trouble, and do you think you could come? And you probably need someone to help you as well. Maybe have you got a dog or anything? I do, said Judah, I've got a dog named Scruffles. Yeah, bring Scruffles, bring her where, said Judah. Well, when you put down this bone, a little teleporting portal is going to open up and that should bring you right to me. Really, said Judah. Really said Teddy Winkle, all right, quick, I really need your help. I'll see you soon. Okay, bye, said Teddy Winkle.

Speaker 1:

And Judah hung up the bone. As he put it down on the ground, he was very confused about what had just happened. But sure enough, as it touched the ground, all of a sudden in front of him opened up a shining, shimmering portal. He looked at Scruffles. Okay, scruffles, can you come with me? We need to go help Teddy Winkle. Scruffles nodded her head, and so Judah and Scruffles walked through the portal. As they appeared on the other side, they could see Teddy Winkle, but Teddy Winkle was all tangled in some kind of plant. Teddy Winkle, are you okay, called out Judah. Yeah, I'm just, I'm just a little bit stuck. Can you, can you come help? Okay, said Judah, we're coming, said Scruffles. Scruffles said Judah, you're, you're talking? Yeah, all dogs can talk, said Teddy Winkle, but Scruffles has never. You're you're talking? Yeah, all dogs can talk, said Teddy Winkle, but Scruffles has never talked before. Oh, yeah, you probably just never bought it somewhere. That's kind of magical and fun like this. Oh, that's, that's amazing. Hi, scruffles, said Judah, hello, Judah, said Scruffles. And so Judah and Scruffles went over to Teddy Winkle. There he was.

Speaker 1:

There was some kind of strange plant that seemed to be growing very quickly and tangling him, teddy Winkle. What happened? Well, I found these funny looking seeds and I decided to plant them in my garden, but instead of growing normal, it grow really quick. And then it tried to capture me. Oh dear, how are we going to stop it? Um, I think you might need to chop them down With what? Don't worry, said Scruffles, I can probably chew it down.

Speaker 1:

So Scruffles bent down and started chewing on the plants. It was very funny. As Scruffles kind of nibbled the plants, kept trying to tickle her so that she'd stop chewing. I can help too, said Judah. He raced over and he started to try to pull them out with his hands. As they started to pull, all of a sudden the plants seemed to realise what they were doing and all the bits of the plant started coming down towards them. Ah, said Judah, don't worry, said Scruffles as she jumped up and did a big growly face at the plant. Grr, she said. And the plant stopped and looked at her. It seems to be listening, said Judah, maybe, maybe we don't need to chop it down. Ah, scruffles, do you think you can talk to the plant? I can try, said Scruffles. Scruffles looked at the plant. Excuse me, plant.

Speaker 1:

All of a sudden all the bits of the plant were looking at Scruffles, can you please leave Teddy Winkle alone? The plant seemed to shake its head. What, why not? The plant looked at Teddy Winkle and then pointed back at Scruffles. Then looked at Teddy Winkle yes, he is a teddy bear, but he's not your teddy bear. You need to give him back.

Speaker 1:

The plant looked a little bit sad, but then it let go. What did it say? Said Teddy Winkle? Well, said Scruffles. It said that it was feeling a little bit lonely and it needed someone to look after it. But it doesn't have a teddy bear. Oh well, maybe we need to find some kind of cuddly teddy bear for this new plant.

Speaker 1:

That sounds like a good idea, said Judah. That's a great idea, said Scruffles. Let's do it. Well, I guess we could take him to the teddy bear toy shop. The teddy bear toy shop, said Judah. What, where's that? Follow me? Said Teddy Winkle.

Speaker 1:

As he walked around the side of his garden, he picked up the garden hose and then put it into a circle. What are you doing, said Judah. I'm making a new teleporting portal, said Teddy Winkle. Hang on, can you turn on the tap? Uh, okay, said Judah. So Judah turned on the tap and, as he did, the hose filled with water and started spraying, and it sprayed into the middle of the circle that Teddy Winkle had made and, sure enough, it turned into a shimmering water looking thing. All right, let's jump in, come on. Teddy Winkle jumped in through the portal, and so Judah and Scruffles followed behind as they appeared on the other side.

Speaker 1:

They were in some kind of strange village. There was old looking houses that all looked very fun because their walls weren't quite straight and their roofs weren't quite normal. Everything seemed to be a little bit wonky and a little bit sideways, but very, very bright and very happy. There was colours everywhere. Right over to this one said Teddy Winkle. Ok, said Judah.

Speaker 1:

So Judah and Scruffles followed Teddy Winkle as they walked over to the most funny-looking shop in the entire village. As they walked through the door inside, there was teddy bears everywhere. Teddy bears of every shape and colour and fuzziness were all over the place, and working at the front desk was a man with glasses on. Oh, hello, teddy wrinkle. Hello, Mr Teddy Bear Maker.

Speaker 1:

Um, I have a friend that needs a new teddy bear. Uh, okay, well, describe to me this friend. What do they like? Well, they're green and they're grabby and they grow very fast. That sounds like a very strange child, said the teddy bear maker. Well, they're not a child, they're actually a plant.

Speaker 1:

What Said the teddy bear maker? I know, said Judah, it sounds very strange. Yes, said Scruffles. But this plant is very lonely and wanted a friend.

Speaker 1:

It tried to take Teddy Winkle. Oh dear, said the teddy bear maker, we best make it a brand new teddy bear of its own. Do you think that you could help me? Um sure, said Judah. Come, let's do it, said the teddy bear maker. So he took Teddy Winkle and Judah and Scruffles out to the back of his workshop. There there was all kinds of materials and stuffings and buttons and everything you could possibly need to make a brand new teddy bear. Okay, judah, first of all we need to make it very personal.

Speaker 1:

Now he liked Teddy Winkles, so maybe we could use a little bit of Teddy Winkles fur to help create the new fur for our new teddy bear. Is that okay, teddy Winkle? I guess so, said Teddy Winkle. Will it hurt? Um, hold still, said the teddy bear maker, and he grabbed a tiny bit of Teddy Winkle's fur and pulled it out. Yow, said Teddy Winkle, that hurt? Oh, yes, it does tickle a little bit, but it will be fine. Hang on, here you go, judah. He handed Judah the tiny bit of Teddy Winkle's fur. All right, put it into that machine over there. Okay, said Judah. So he put the tiny bit of Teddy Winkle's fur into the machine over in the corner and in no time at all it had produced a new teddy bear shaped piece of material. Fantastic.

Speaker 1:

Now we will need something to fill him with. Make sure we've got some good stuffing. Oh, scruffles, you look very cuddly. Do you think we could borrow some of your fur to use as stuffing for our brand new teddy bear? Um sure, said Scruffles, hang on. Now he's going to pull out some of your fur. No, that would be very unkind. I've got a very special hairbrush.

Speaker 1:

And so the teddy bear maker gave the hairbrush to Judah special hairbrush. And so the teddy bear maker gave the hairbrush to Judah. Just give scruffles a good brush, he said. Okay, said Judah. So he brushed scruffles a few times and the brush got filled with scruffles, curly fur. Perfect, said the man. Now we need to turn that into teddy bear fluff. So, judah, here you go, pull it all off.

Speaker 1:

Judah pulled all the fur off the brush. All right, now put it into this pot. So he put it inside the pot that the teddy bear maker had handed him. Now we need to heat it. Take it over to the fire and make sure that you only heat it a little bit. Okay, said Judah. He hung the pot over the fire and watched.

Speaker 1:

The pot seemed to change colour. At first it was red and then it turned orange, and then it went green. Green means go, said the teddy bear maker, take it off. So Judah used the special tongs to lift the pot back out from the fire. As he did, they opened the top and it was full of stuffing. Fantastic, said the man, fill it up.

Speaker 1:

So they took the stuffing and they filled the new teddy bear that they had made. Now it just needs some buttons for the eyes and a very special nose. Um, hmm, he looked carefully. Judah, your shirt has buttons. May we borrow some of those? Of course, said Judah. So they took buttons from Judah's shirt and put it on the new teddy bear. When they had finished, they all looked. It's fantastic, said Judah. Spectacular, said Scruffles. Ah, I think I'm more handsome, said Teddy Winkle having a. All right, we better take it back to the plant. Okay, thanks very much, mr Teddy Bear Maker. You're welcome. Come back anytime. Thank you, yelled Judah. Yeah, thanks, yelled Teddy Winkle. See you later, said Scruffles.

Speaker 1:

So Teddy Winkle grabbed a piece of string from the Teddy Bear Maker's workshop and put it into a circle. Then he waved his hands over the top and it turned into a portal. Jump through, kiddos, let's go. So Teddy Winkle, scruffles and Judah all jumped back through. And when they got back to the other side, something was not quite right. The plant had continued to grow. It's taken over my whole house. Oh no, said Teddy Winkle. We're too late. I don't think so, said Judah. I think we can do it. Yes, said Teddy Winkle, we're too late. I don't think so, said Judah. I think we can do it. Yes, said Scruffles, we definitely can. So Judah walked over with the brand new teddy bear Excuse me plant.

Speaker 1:

The plant all stopped and seemed to look at Judah, we brought you something. All the ends of the plant seemed to look at the brand new teddy bear. They all approached and circled around it. Then the plant got smaller and smaller and smaller and it shrunk down to the size of a beautiful plant. Then two leafy branches reached around and cuddled the teddy bear and with that the plant looked extremely happy. My house, it's saved, said Teddy Winkle. And that is a beautiful plant to have in your front garden. Yes, it is, said Scruffles. Look, they looked, and it was the happiest-looking plant that any of them had ever seen.

Speaker 1:

Oh, thank you, judah, I thought I was in big trouble there. You have saved the day and you've given someone a brand new teddy bear, because teddy bears are the best thing in the whole entire world. Well, they are lots of fun, said Judah. Right, you kids better be getting home. Do you want to take the fun portal home, the fun portal?

Speaker 1:

All of a sudden, as they were talking, they realized that the plant was starting to grow again. Oh, it's taking over again. Hang on. The plant made a circle out of its branches and then Teddy Winkle realized what it was doing. The plant made a circle out of its branches and then Teddy Winkle realised what it was doing. The plant wants to send you home through a portal. Alright, planty, let's do this. Teddy Winkle grabbed the garden hose and watered the plant. It seemed to love the water and as it was getting watered, a portal appeared in the circle that the plant had made. Right, kids, off you go. Thanks, teddy Winkle. Said Judah, we'll see you next time, said Scruffles as they jumped through the portal and waved goodbye. It closed behind them.

Speaker 1:

They arrived back in Judah's house and walked back into Judah's bedroom. Wow, scruffles, that was amazing. Scruffles looked at him and smiled oh, I forgot, you won't be able to talk back here. Well, it was nice to say hello to you. Ding dong, there was a noise at the door. What could that be? Um, judah called out Judah's mum. There's a package here, one for you and one for Scruffles. Oh, so Judah raced downstairs to see what the package was. They opened it up and inside there were two new teddy bears with a note that said thank you for all your help from Teddy Winkle. Enjoy your new teddy bears.

Speaker 1:

Judah and Scruffles cuddled their teddies. These are fantastic. Where did those come from? Said Judah's mum. All their teddies, these are fantastic. We use recycled parts from all kinds of things to make the most amazing, cuddly, sweetest teddy bears that anybody has ever seen, much more friendly than Teddy Winkle.
